CRC shape the future of Guest Experience at Chester Racecourse
Ahead of launching our recruitment campaigns for the 2024 race season at Chester Race Company, our teams conducted an overhaul of our processes, technology, and training programmes. Our passion for delivering exceptional service has shaped our approach to attracting and onboarding the best talent in the industry.
With expert advice and insight from various departments across the group, we are now able to take applicants on a development journey from inexperienced, to having the skills and expertise to deliver above and beyond guest expectations.
Racemakers, Hospitality Hosts and Guest Experience Hosts are identified through our interactive, X-Factor style, assessment centre. Those who shine the brightest are awarded a spot within the Guest Experience Team. The talent we can have in one room is extraordinary. With people coming from a wide range of industries and job roles such as Disney, Cirque Du Soleil, celebrity dance crews, cabin crew, tour guides, fitness models, musical theatre performers, youth programme leaders and many more.
Hospitality teams undertake a bespoke training programme online and have the chance to put this into practice at our induction and training session, all before setting foot on shift with us. This allows anyone with any first day jitters to build their confidence and have a sneak peek into the world of Hospitality without the pressure of a live event.
Our safety and security team undertake a huge amount of training before day 1. All our safety team are trained fire wardens. On top of this they complete our e-learning package, bespoke to Chester Racecourse's procedures, as well as studying industry standard counter terrorism training, our Stewards & SIA team are fluent in safety protocol; Not forgetting a big dose of guest experience training too.
With innovation and technology at the heart of all our processes, the people team have been able to step back and engage more with our applicants.
