Musselburgh Racecourse is delighted to offer an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to join our Grounds Team as a Groundsworker on a permanent basis, located in the heart of Musselburgh.

About Musselburgh Racecourse:
Musselburgh Racecourse is one of the UK’s most progressive racecourses, and one of Edinburgh’s leading hospitality and entertainment venues with 5 Star Visit Scotland accreditation.

General Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the maintenance, prep, renovation & repair of racing surfaces.

  • Assist with the movement of the course running rail.

  • Maintain and assist all grass areas and non-grass areas on site, to include setting up furniture for race meetings.

  • Assist with the movement of and laying out of irrigation equipment. 

Essential requirements:

  • ·         Basic working knowledge of Health and Safety and a willingness to follow regulations.

  • ·         Full Clean UK Driving License.

  • ·         Willingness to learn and an appetite for development.

Desirable requirements:

  • ·         Spraying certificates (PA1, PA2a and PA6), a sports turf/horticulture/IOG qualification would be an advantage, but not a necessity.

 

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Hours of work: 

39 hours per week, plus additional weekend work.
