Are you a professionally curious and diligent individual with a passion for Site Security?  Chester Race Company have the fantastic opportunity for a proactive and enthusiastic Security Operations Manager to join the Security team, based in the historic centre of Chester on a permanent, full-time contract.

This role will be pivotal in supporting the Head of Security in maintaining the security of the Chester Racecourse site against fire, burglary and other security breaches.

General responsibilities include:

• Acting as senior security guard on shift by making key team decisions based on security matters and escalating to the Head of Security when appropriate.
• Managing shift handovers, ensuring full briefings are given and completing security reports during shift as required.
• Providing proactive and highly visible security across the site, including regular patrols, rapid reactive response and supporting the site security team with site lockdowns.
• Informally challenging any suspicious behaviour in a professional and polite way in the first instance where safe to do so, and escalating any situations as appropriate.
• Maintaining oversight and awareness of the site including car park booth operation, dynamic site traffic, parking and operations for large-scale events.
• Being a key point of contact for key handovers and site logistics.
• Activating our incident response structure in the event of an on-site emergency or incident. 

The successful Security Operations Manager will have the following:

• Previous experience in a security or stewarding role at a large site or in a public facing role.
• Holds an in date SIA security guard license
• Able to operate security technology, such as incident logging software and MS Office suite. 
• Excellent understanding of Chester site operations and security requirements, and the wider Chester city area
• Guest orientated and an effective team leader. 
• A professional, calm and decisive manner in pressured situations. 
• Problem solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary: £31,000 - £33,000 per annum

Hours of work: 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts, 8am to 8pm. 

This role is based on-site and therefore reliable commute to Chester City centre is paramount.
